     Peter James Seaha, 79, much beloved husband of 41 years to Mary Beth Seaha passed away quietly at home on his birthday, August 21st.

     Pete was born August 21, 1942 in Rockville, CT a son of the late Peter & Wladyslavia “Wlady” Rant Seaha. He graduated Windsor Locks High School in CT and from the University of Syracuse in NY. He worked for the CT State Police as a Planner and implemented a statewide telecommunications network that was emulated by other states. Pete retired to Aiken with his wife in 1998 and felt southern in his soul. He served on the Aiken City Planning Commission and was the original chairman of the Aiken County Tea Party. Pete was the eternal optimist with a smile for everyone and never turned away anyone in need. As a young man, he played a variety of sports with distinction and was an avid Yankees and UConn basketball fan.

     Pete was a rare 11 year glioblastoma multiform brain cancer survivor and a strong supporter of Mayo Hospital which he credited with saving his life. His family called him Superman because of his courage and dignity handling his health challenges following his brain cancer. Pete loved to entertain with his wife at home.

     In addition to his wife Mary Beth, Pete is survived by a daughter, Carrie Burke of Granby, MA; a son and daughter-in-law, Steven & Cheryl Seaha of Granby, MA; grandchildren, Jeremy, Shayne and Madison; a cousin, Walt Seaha of Thompson, CT and several nieces and nephews.

     In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother, Edwin and his grandson Josh Burke.

     Pete was a longtime supporter of the Shiner’s Hospital for Children and in lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial be made to support it’s mission. Memorials may be mailed to 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.

     The family wishes to thank the many wonderful friends and neighbors who helped him through the years. The family also wishes to thank Dr. Leo Muniz & Dr. David Cundey for their years of compassion & dedicated care.

     A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
