Obituary of Cora Alice Paxton Ferrell

After a lifetime of love, Cora “Alice” Ferrell passed away at home aged 94 years.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-five years, Romie Ferrell; children, Doug Ferrell, Corky Ferrell, and Becky Johnson; siblings, Dean Roberts, Jenny Miller, Tom Paxton, Nina Bartlett, Brooks Paxton, Bob Paxton, and Kenny Paxton; and her parents, Worthy Porter Paxton and Lessie Paxton.

 

She is survived by sister, Gladys (Ed) West; daughter, Connie Ferrell; daughter-in-law, Jan Ferrell; grandchildren, Beth Ferrell, Michael Ferrell, Samantha (Byron) Altizer, and Michelle Johnson; great-grandchildren, Colton Ferrell, Amelia Boerstler, and Cala Alitzer; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and their descendants; as well as many friends and neighbors whose lives she touched.

 

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 6, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. in The George Funeral Chapel with Dr. Christopher Brewer officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held beginning one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Helping Hands of Aiken, John Elliot Lane, Aiken, SC.

 

Pallbearers will be Byron Altizer, Oliver Blagg, Dale Johnson, Ralph Kessler, Hondo Russell, and Steve Hightower.
