AIKEN, SC— Rans Dow Black Jr., age 88, beloved husband of the late Sara F. Black, passed away Thursday, September 20, 2018.

Born January 1, 1930 in Cherryville, NC, he was the son of the late Ranzo Dow Black I and the late Zona Kiser Black. He and Sara were married in Charlotte, NC and spent 57 years together. They lived in California, Florida and Georgia before retiring in their dream spot, Aiken, SC. Rans enjoyed life and laughter, and truly loved his friends and family. He had a genuine love of people and was a positive force wherever he went.

Survivors include two daughters, Cindy Estep (Mark), Bucks County, PA and Susan Kerr, Huntsville, AL; a son, Rans D. Black, III (Missy), Brandon, MS; seven grandchildren, Cassandra, Caitlyn, Caylee, Lindsey, Brooke, Simone, and Peyton; and four great-grandchildren, Hannah, Madison, Lawson, and Abel.

A memorial service will be held at 3 PM Saturday, September 22nd, 2018 in the George Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Nancy Reed will officiate.The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
