Mr. Dan Watford,74, husband of Lee Ida Watford, died Thursday, February 6, 2003 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Sunday, February, 9 at George Funeral Homes, Historic Downtown Chapel with Rev. Jamie Rogers and Rev. Mark Watford officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday 1:30-3pm at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be nephews, honorary pallbearers will be, Lacey Boatwright, Thomas Smith, Danny Martin and Deacons of Redds Branch Baptist Church. Burial will be at Bethany Cemetery. Mr. Watford was the son of the late Myron Lester and Lottie Watford and a native of Darlington Co., SC. He has lived in Aiken for 48 years after moving from Andrews, SC. He was a member of Redds Branch Baptist Church, and worked at Coca Cola Bottling Co. and Retired from Owens Corning Fiberglas. Dan loved helping others, enjoyed the outdoors, was an avid fisherman. He was predeceased by his son Danny Watford, five brothers and one sister. Survivors include his wife, brother, Donald and Jackie Watford, Gilbert, SC, sisters, Lib and Theron Cox, Andrews, SC, Mary Lou and Dave McKee, Belton, SC, sisters-in-law, Betty Watford, West Columbia, SC, Pearl Watford, Aiken, SC, Mozell Watford Kneece, Aiken, SC and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes that memorials be made to Redds Branch Baptist Church, 390 Redds Branch Rd., Aiken, SC 29801 or Hitchcock Hospice, 690 Medical Park Dr., Aiken, SC 29801
