Funeral services for Mr. Calvin Vincent Snipes will be held Tuesday, April 27, 2004 at 3 PM at George Funeral Homes, Historic Downtown Chapel, 211 Park Ave., SW, Aiken, SC with Pastor Phillip Napier officiating. Interment will follow in Clearwater Branch Baptist Church Cemetery, Aiken, SC. Pallbearers will be Billy Wood, Ricky Cook, Keith Harp, Clyde Condrey, Chad and Tracy Snipes and Eric DuBose. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 until 8 PM at the funeral home. Mr. Snipes, 72, of Aiken, SC, son of the late Robert Vincent and Inez Gardner Snipes and husband of the late Doris Hall Snipes, died Saturday, evening, April 24, 2004 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. Born in and a lifelong resident of Aiken County, he was a retired Carpenter and was a member of Clearwater Branch Baptist Church. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed farming, fishing, and coon hunting. Sons, Carroll Wayne Snipes and Bobby Lee Snipes, both of Belvedere, and Vernon V. Snipes, Warrenville, daughters, Inez Wood, New Holland, and Diane Jackson, Bath, brothers, Oakley Snipes, Saluda, and Robert Snipes, TX; sisters, Fannie DuBose, and Emily Snipes, both of Aiken, Brenda Hall and Dorothy Condrey, both of Trenton, Mary Stevens, TX and Barbara Whitworth, Winnsboro, seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, survive. The family has requested that is so desired, memorials in memory of Mr. Snipes be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
