Obituary of Charles Thomas Gill

Funeral Mass for Mr. Charles Thomas Gill will be celebrated at 11am on Thursday, October 12, 2006 at St Mary help of Christian Catholic Church with Father Rodolfo Lache as Celebrant. Interment will take place in Restwood Memorial Gardens, Hinton, WV at 11am on Monday, October 16, 2006. Visitation will be 6-8pm, Wednesday, October 11, 2006 at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Avenue, SW, Aiken. Memorials may be directed to the Aiken SPCA, 401 Wire Road, Aiken, SC, 29801. Mr. Gill, 72, of Wagener, died Sunday, October 8, 2006 at Mattie C. Hall Nursing Center after a short illness. Mr. Gill was born in Hinton, WV, on April 30, 1934 to the late Charles and Norma Adkins Gill. Mr. Gill moved to Wagener in 1999 from Colonial Heights, VA. Mr. Gill was a communicant of St. Mary Help of Christian Catholic Church and former communicant of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Petersburg, VA. Charles was a great lover of classical music especially master work choral music, and sang in many Church and community choruses, including the Petersburg, VA Festival Chorus, and most recently the Edisto Singers of Wagener. Mr. Gill was an avid gardener, animal lover and enjoyed painting landscapes and collecting antiques. Mr. Gill retired from Allied Chemical Corp after many years of service. In addition to his parents, Mr. Gill was predeceased by a sister, Irene Gill Newton. He is survived by his sisters; Delphia Breen and her husband Earl, both in a nursing home in Lindside, WV, Mildred Gill Fell, Wagener, nephew; Larry Newton and his wife Josephine, their children Sophia, Luke, and Jade all of Conyers, GA, niece; Christina Lowe and her husband George, Richmond, VA.
