David Paul Ruehmer

David Paul Ruehmer, age 50, of Aiken, South Carolina passed away on December 4, 2021. David was born in Warrensville Heights, Ohio to Carl and Thea Ruehmer on January 12, 1971. He attended Anderson High School in Cincinnati, Ohio and Central Ohio Technical College in Newark, Ohio. David followed in the footsteps of his paternal grandfather, Gustav Ruehmer and was a skilled carpenter and proud member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. He worked at Savannah River Remediation for 15 years in Aiken, SC with The Southern Carpenters and Local Union 283. 


David was involved in Boy Scouts of America for many years. He played baseball in high school, as catcher he commanded the field with leadership like only David could. David was a Harley Davidson guy and with his adventurous spirit loved the freedom of the open road. David loved his family and friends and those who knew him cherished his warm smile, gentle manner and quick wit. David loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, honoring him in his everyday life and testimony. David was a protector and good neighbor who never hesitated to  lend a helping hand.  He was deeply loved and will be forever missed.  


He is survived by his daughter Avery Rose Ruehmer-Cooksey, his father Carl Ruehmer, his six siblings-Scott (Holly) Ruehmer, Brian (Kelly) Ruehmer, Christopher (Kelly) Ruehmer, Alisa (Donald) Reichert, Lynette (Brian) Foreman, Andrew Ruehmer, his nieces and nephews-Jamie Cooper, Adam Ruehmer, Daniel Ruehmer, Rachel Ruehmer, James Ruehmer-Egner, Kacie Leakway, Zachery Reichert, Lauren Reichert, Megan Foreman, Ashley Foreman, Alexander Foreman, Vera Herndon, Leighton Ruehmer and many friends, neighbors and coworkers. David is preceded in death by his mother Theodora Ruehmer and his brother Matthew Ruehmer. 


A Catholic Mass and Memorial Service is open to the public and will be held on Monday December 27, 2021 at 11:00 am at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton in Milford, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Milford Schools Foundation- Mental Health Intervention Team-Go Fund Me account that supports high school students in Mental Health Crisis at the following web address https://gofund.me/099a8022
