Meet Our director - cody lee anderson

Cody is a life-long resident of Aiken County. He graduated from Midland Valley High School and attended the University of South Carolina Aiken. In early 2008, Cody lost his beloved grandmother, Ruby Lee Beck. It was at this time that he became inspired to enter the funeral profession due to the compassion and professionalism extended to him and to his family by the funeral home staff. Cody transferred from USCA to Piedmont Technical College’s Mortuary Science program. Following his graduation in 2011, Cody has worked diligently to care for and support families in Aiken and the surrounding areas to meet their funerary needs. He joined George Funeral Home in 2014 as a funeral director and purchased the funeral home in 2018.

Cody strongly believes in community involvement and has served on various boards and committees to include: The Green Boundary Club, Joye in Aiken, Aiken Center for the Arts, The Midland Valley Veterans’ Park, and The South Carolina Funeral Directors Association. In 2017, Cody was honored as a Young Professional to Follow by the readers of the Aiken Standard. In his free time, Cody enjoys traveling, studying history, and an occasional round of golf at Palmetto Golf Club.

Cody’s true passion is assisting those who have experienced a loss. “We recognize that grief is very personal and unique to individuals and families,” Anderson said. “At George, our promise is to accommodate individual and family needs and to facilitate meaningful ways for families and friends to grieve their losses and celebrate the lives of their loves ones.” Anderson elaborated, “The keys to our success include our broad range of services, the high level of personalization we provide, our commitment to aftercare, and our experienced team. These principles are our bedrock foundation. On that foundation we will continue to provide the exceptional care and service for which George Funeral Home is known well into our second century of service.”
